A PLEA FOR TIME IN THE PHENOTYPE WARS

The new book is finally done! And for just this week, I’m selling it for $19.97. Next week it goes up to its regular price of $25.97. And I’m only announcing this 23% discount here, not anywhere on any social media. So, effectively, it’s just for subscribers to this substack. I’m extremely happy with it. It was a lot of work to take all those substack posts and weave them in to an integrated, cogent argument. I think it was well worth it. Certainly, most, maybe as much as 85% of the material in the book initially appeared, at least in a first iteration, as a post on this substack. The real value is having organized it into a sustained analysis. So, if you’ve been finding the discussions here of value, give the book some consideration. It will tie things together in a way that simply wasn’t possible in the piecemeal approach of a blogger groping his way toward understanding. This substack has had some important arguments to make along the way, and finally this book showcases them in a sustained and methodical set of analyses.

I don’t want to mislead anyone; this book is theoretically and historically dense. It really gets into the weeds. I don’t imagine that will be an obstacle to subscribers or regular readers of this substack. However, I know it will be arduous for some people. I’m thinking I may have to write a shorter, CliffsNotes type, maybe 150 page, summary of the key lines of argument to optimize their exposure. (That won’t be for some time in the future, as I’m a bit booked-out at the moment.) For those, though, who want a deep understanding of the theoretical and historical foundations of those arguments, this is the book for you!
