MERRY CHRISTMAS!

AND ALL THE BEST IN THE COMING YEAR

Wow, this is our fourth Christmas together at the ole Circulation of Elites Substack.

It kind of blows my mind that that first rather spontaneous post, on political pathocracy, for which I specifically created this blog, posted while living in Albania, over three years ago, would lead to this. So many paths followed and books read. Without the discipline of this Substack, and the encouraging and stimulating contributions of so many of you, there’s no way I’d have produced as much work on all these topics as I have. It’s highly unlikely I would have found my way to the phenotype wars model and all the intellectual fertility it has inspired. Life takes some funny turns.

So, in the spirit of the season of appreciation and gratitude, I owe all the readers and commentators to this Substack a huge thank you for your interest and support over the years.

I want to wish all my Christian or Christian-adjacent readers a wonderful Christmas, I hope you have the good fortune to spend it with those you love. In the end, from my outlook, nothing in life is more important. However Christmas occurs for you, though, I wish you all the best.

And, as usual, for my non-Christmas readers, I wish you too the blessings of family and community. As it’s quite common for religious and cultural traditions to hold some celebration in and around the winter solstice, all the best wishes for those celebrations in your tradition, too.

Next year will be the year of the spatial revolution around here. But Christmas is a wonderful time to take stock of the temporal dimensions of life.
