Iv gone and joted some notes down that I'll be typing up two pieces on substack using some terms you mentioned near the start of this and it's previous piece about Tönnies.
But on another note I've just looked up the word culture on etymonline and it doesn't actually refer to a place until about the 19th century or 20th century, before that it was todo with land tilling/ cultivation.
I must say I don't like the Gemeinschaft / Gesellschaft binary. I would like a three-way split, with Gesellschaft meaning social -- "mein Gesell" translates as "my companion" -- and Rangordnungschaft meaning hierarchy.
